Here are some stories/sayings from Emily.
Today it was pretty windy. Windy enough that my kids wanted coats while they were outside playing. Before we all went out though Ethan tried to play outside. Emily (being the mom she THINKS she is) made him come in and shut (and locked) the door so he couldn't go out. Ethan of course SCREAMED (He frequently goes outside and sits on a tricycle on our front porch. I swear that kid lives to be outside....no matter the weather). Emily, trying to console him or something said. "Ethan, do you want to blow away to Heaven in the wind?" Ethan of course kept screaming. So she went on. "Ethan do you ever want to see your family again? Cause if so then you need to stay inside so you don't blow away." I guess I am falling short in our teachings, but still. At least he calmed down. (We live in the country...somewhat anyway...and we frequently see dead animals. There have been a few dead cats this week and some dogs a few months ago...cars should really slow down).
A few weeks ago we drove by the hospital....this was how the conversation went.
Emily: "Mommy!! That is where Aunt Kari had her baby!!!" (Kari's "baby" is 10 months old).
Me: "Yes"
Emily: "Mom, I want a baby!"
Me: "Well you have to be married before you have a baby."
Emily: "In the temple".
Me: "Yes, (and slightly under my breath....preferably)"
Emily: "Well mommy, I don't know any boys that will marry me".
I think I reassured her that she has a while before she will have to worry about that.
On another occasion, while passing the hospital she informed me that to "get a baby" all we have to do is go to the hospital and then we say we want a baby and then they give us a baby and then we go home and we have our baby. If only that is how it worked.......hmmmmmmm
Tonight while going to bed I said their room was messy. In a VERY enthusiastic voice she said "well mommy, can we clean it in the morning please". I was wondering who did what with our daughter. She likes things clean, but seriously!!!
Enough about Emily (for now)
Ethan....
His tubes fell out so we no longer have to put ear plugs in his ears. SO SO SO NICE!!!!!! He is starting to talk SO much. It is fun to hear him. I feel like I should be talking about my 18th month old, not my over 2 year old, but it is what it is and according to the Dr. he is just fine.
So the other day he said "mom call cis, atlie and aden" (translation, Cris, Natalie and Caden). It was after 10 at night so I said they were all sleeping. He said "ahhhh." So CUTE!!!
He says most animals and what noises they make now. Although a horse no longer says neigh...they say "ye haw". I guess he has had too many horsey-back rides. My FAVORITE thing he says (and one day I WILL get it on camera...he HATES cameras and stops doing ANYTHING when I pull one out) is a train noise. He says "hugga who who".
He leaves off the first letter for lots of words. Now that I figured that out, I am catching onto more and more of what he is saying (and when I still don't understand, I ask Emily....who sometimes puts words into his mouth and sometimes actually tells me what he was saying).
Anyway, they are growing and doing great. If I ever find my camera I will put up some pictures.
