First, let me apologize for being to lazy to put all this in order. At least it is here :)!! Ethan and Emily fell asleep in the car on the way back from Tri Cities. I thought it was super cute how Ethan rested his arm on Emily.
Ethan talking with Aunt Kimberly on the phone. I tried to video it, but he wouldn't let me, but he was jumping up and down to the "beat" of his talking.
Emily's FAVORITE Christmas present. We enjoyed having Eric and Kimberly here at Grandma's too. Oh, I haven't updated my blog in a while. So we sold our house in November (the 13th to be exact). We moved in with my parents and started right into looking for new houses. I found one I really liked (and after much pressing) finally got Trent to go look at it. He didn't care for it. Our realtor called us the next week to let us know the price dropped (a lot). Trent suddenly was interested and we made an offer soon after that. We signed papers Feb. 4th and have been working on it since then (literally, the next morning the kitchen was ripped out). We are hoping to have everything done this week (besides the kitchen which won't get done until late March). We will move in after the kitchen is done. Back to Christmas. It was fun being at my parents and especially nice to see Eric and Kimberly soooo much while they were here. Emily got a bike and barbie (which she was convinced she wouldn't get) and some other smaller things. Ethan got a race track and tool bench with some other smaller things too. Emily even took her bike out Christmas morning (in the snow) to ride it. She absolutely loves riding the bike. A cute story about Emily. When we were asking her what she wanted for Christmas, all she kept telling us was that she wanted Santa to get into our storage unit and get out her barbie's and barbie house and that is all she wanted for Christmas (and then she would add and a new book). Santa didn't get into our storage unit, but it won't be much longer until she gets to have her toys back again.
Reading with Uncle Eric.
My mom bought this chair for the grandkids. Ethan instantly claimed it as his own (seriously, no joke). He napped in it, watched tv in it, colors while in it, everything!!!! He LOVES this chair. (and I love some of the positions he get into when in the chair).
Emily practicing her photography skills :)!!
Emily had her first concert at school in December. They sang three songs and she did a great job. They sang "Do you want to be an Elf?", "Jingle Bells", and "Snowman Jump".
Emily got her teeth cleaned. She LOVES going to the dentist. I can't find my picture of her getting a filling, but she was a champion during it. I love our dentist (we were in and out in 20 minutes) and she didn't even know she got a shot until after we left the dentist. I think my favorite part here is her outfit. She refuses to wear pants and has the coolest sense of style. While I may not love the choices of skirts/shirt/tights she chooses, at least I don't have to worry about getting her dressed (and I don't have to fight her every morning).
My lame version of letting the kids make gingerbread houses. I had everything to make, but decided I was too lazy. Thankfully daddy and uncle Alden came later that day and made real houses with the kids. (sorry, they wouldn't let me take pictures of them).
Ethan practicing his photography skills :)!!
Emily coloring. She is still way into coloring. She also loves doing her homework. (Most the time anyway). She is loving school and learning tons. She now counts to 100 by herself without skipping any numbers (she has been almost there for a while, but would always miss a number or two) and she is getting really good at reading words (as long as they are only 3 or 4 letters). For the 100th day of school she had to write 100 words. It was an awesome accomplishment (and self esteem builder) for her.
In November she decided her hair was too long and she took it upon herself to cut it. I was clueless as to what to do. I still don't know what to do about it. We are just letting it grow for now, but she will be getting all her hair cut shortly. (I just wasn't willing to go quite that short).
Sick Ethan. He caught the nasty flu and was down for a good few days. Thankfully the rest of us passed it by. His ears are doing much much better. He went almost 6 months without an ear infection (and with no tubes) which is the longest he has gone in his life. It was pretty exciting for us. He has no tubes in right now and seems to be doing okay (we are knocking on wood that it continues to be good). He has also "graduated" to speech class through the ESD here. It has been good for him and we are super excited he was finally able to get in.
He is also in a basketball clinic right now. He is LOVING it!!! (Although he needs a lot more practice). His favorite thing to do is shoot the ball and his least favorite is to dribble.
Believe me or not, I took this picture in January. He looks like he is a little baby again :)!!
Emily practicing photography again :)!!
So that pretty much sums up our life for the past while. Sorry it was all mixed up. We will have a lot of things in March (possibly Feb.) with a new baby coming and moving and a few Birthdays. :)!! I will post our house pictures sometime (I can't decide if I should wait till you can see the before/after or just post them now).
