Catching Up (finally)!!

So we are going clear back to the start of August. We got to go to the Umatilla County Fair/Rodeo. Emily and Ethan had a blast. They loved the few rides we let me go on (although note to self....next year make Emily wear tennis shoes....). They also LOVED hitting the mark with the "hammer". It must have been pretty heavy because they were both concentrating soooo hard.

Here is Emily on her first day of school. Bandage and all (see next picture). She was SOOOO excited to go to school (I just wish the excitment lasted more than 2 days...).
The night before the first day of school we were at Trent's sister's house and Emily got into a fight with the floor. Sadly the floor won. She cut her chin open. It was pretty nasty. Thankfully Trent's sister happens to be an RN and was able to save us stiches and a trip to the ER. She has a scare but it is pretty small. (Sorry the picture isn't the best...she REALLY didn't want one taken).

This is my kids new way of cleaning. They are "super cleaners". Really, it applies to anything I want them to do (and all it only consists of a hair tie and a pillowcase). (Sorry about he partial nudity!!).
That brings me to the next thing that has happened. Ethan decided to get potty trained. It was totally unexpected and totally welcomed. We had tried before this but he really wasn't into it. One day he found a sucker in my purse and asked for it. I told him he could have it if he went potty and he did. It shocked me sooooo much!! I went and bought some dum dums and the rest is history. I mean sort of anyway. Of course he still had an accident here and there, but honestly, it was much quicker than Emily. We still put him in diapers at night but he has now gone almost a month without wearing a diaper at all!! SOOOO NICE!!!
This is the last thing. I don't know if you can tell from the picture but Emily drew this for me. It is a picture of me with a baby in my tummy. I am pregnant and very excited (although slightly nervous...I haven't had a baby in a long time). We are due March 5th. Just to save some questions....we are NOT going to find out the gender of the baby. I have never wanted to find out but have anyway. Trent and I talked about it and finally came to this conclusion. We don't find out the gender and Trent gets to pick the name. Honestly, I am not worried about the name he will choose (as he basically came up with Emily and Ethan's names) and it has actually taken off a lot of the stress of choosing a name. It should be fun!!! I also have a story for this. Ethan was kissing my stomach a few weeks ago and he wouldn't stop. Trent finally asked if he was kissing the baby. Ethan felt my stomach and said I don't see a baby. Trent said "it is IN mommy's tummy". Ethan lifted my shirt a little and said "I don't see a baby". Trent emphasized again, "it is IN mommy's tummy." Ethan thought really hard (you know when you can tell they are seriously thinking) and then he looked at me (very seriously!!) and said "Mommy, open your mouth". After opening it he looked very intently inside and exclaimed, "I see it!!! I see it!!". It was sooo funny!!

We have had a lot of other things happening. I am VERY busy with church, but our house seems to be consuming my life right now. We have accepted on offer and are hoping the appraisal will happen this week. Hopefully before too long we will be moving. To save some more questions, we are planning on moving in with my parents (I know crazy, huh?!?!?!). I figure they are both workaholics anyway and won't be home much. We haven't started to look at house yet, but we plan on starting right after we get settled in with my parents, in other words, we are only planning on staying with my parents until we find a new house and close on it (we are hoping 2-3 months). We are very excited about this too, but more just ready for it to be done. I don't think I have EVER cleaned my house this many times this good.

Ethan started his class again. He is hopefully going to be getting into speech class very soon. He is doing soooo much better and seriously improves daily, but still needs some help especially with certain letters. Funny story. We got a letter from the ESD before this school year just to refresh us on where he was at the end of last year. Among other things it had all the letters of the alphabet and how often he uses each correctly. It happened to show the letter G as his "worst" letter pronounce (with him only using it 33% of the time). Trent was like I don't think that is true so he tested Ethan with 3 words starting with the letter G. He only said one right....I guess these people really do know what they are doing :)!!! Anyway, he truly loves his class and has thrived sooo much from the help they have been able to give him. He will really miss it once he starts speech.

I think that pretty much sums up our life over the last little while. Hope you enjoyed :)!!

  1. Wait, why did Emily's school only last two days???
So much exciting news happening at your house!
Glad you were able to sell your house quickly.
Congratulations on baby #3. That's so cool! Will this one have an E name too? Easton, Everett, Emma, Elise?
I'm not very good at writing the letter G either.... even now. Vincent doesn't write ANY letters and he's a year older than Ethan. I wouldn't worry too much.
Super capes for cleaning is genius!

  2. Hooray! Congratulations! You'll do great. It doesn't matter how long it's been since you were pregnant, it will work anyway! And I love the story of Ethan and seeing the baby down your throat!!! :)
