Emily putting her presents to good use!!
The first drawing!!
She couldn't even wait to get the wrapping paper off before she was trying to get through the plastic to her new "cleaner" as she called it!! Sadly Santa forgot to get the batteries...(maybe it was Mrs. Clause ;)!!!)
The one picture she would actually look at the camera for....The movie is Bolt and I don't think she has ever even seen it, but she held it up for me!!
So this year (and last year) we let the kids open the presents on Christmas Eve because we are with family ALL DAY on Christmas!! Last year Emily opened her presents at night and that didn't work well. She didn't want to go to bed and the next morning all she wanted was to play with her presents. So this year Santa came at night and we opened the presents this morning. We have been trying to convince Emily that Santa is a cool person and that he brings us good things and presents. She wasn't convinced!! Even this morning as she sat on our bed she refused to go see what Santa had brought her. After FINALLY getting her out of our bedroom (with a little help from daddy) she started into her stocking. She suddenly thought Santa wasn't so bad after all and even said "I like Santa". I am pretty sure she was just as excited about the socks as she was any present she got. She had to dig though the package and choose the "ones" she wanted (even though they are all the same!!!) As she opened each present she would say "what's this"...."hmmm"...."OHHHHHHH" (when the present was opened)!! She is such a cutie and it was so much fun to see her open the presents. Ethan didn't seem to care either way, but had fun trying to take the presents away from Emily. I LOVE Christmas!!!
